A Little Catch Up

I seriously have told myself about 100 times lately, "I must sit down and blog. I really need to blog. I should spend some time and blog." As much as I want to, I just haven't had time. When I have had time, I'm busy working on things for my classroom! With going back to Kindergarten, I really have had to re-think some first grade things. Also, with teaching with a different curriculum, I am having to rearrange things.

For instance, last week I had to teach about recycling.  Let me just remind you that it is September, not April.  We are no where near Earth Day.

We are working on creating this little guy from my We Can Help the Earth mini-unit.

We still aren't finished.  I think I have forgotten how long it takes little ones to color. We are building some hand muscles, though! 

I also have been working on our sight word order to incorporate the words the district requires, the words from the adoption, and the words on the report card. One would think they would all align, right? Wishful thinking! But we are doing great!! I have such smarties! We have been busy working on our sight word books that are from Kinder Craze!

I know I didn't share much, but I will be back later this week to share more about how Daily 5-ish is working in our classroom. So far, my kinder friends are LOVING it! :) Have a wonderful week!!
