A Peek at Last Week!

Last week we finished our little unit on money.  We used this unit as we learned about money and their equivalent values.

I can honestly say that 90% of my friends did WONDERFUL with equivalent values of money!! I was thrilled!  Here is the money unit we used.

I also have decided to add some more fun things to my writing station.  I'm killing two birds with one stone here.  They do writing and have fun cutting and creating.  We have something cutesy for the hallway! They were just getting bored with write about reading from Daily 5.  I am just changing out the writing activity each week.  It's more work for me, but if it keeps them more engaged AND I'm getting better writing during writer's workshop, GREAT!Last week we did this super cute New Year Craftivity from Glyph Girls. It was a freebie that I  found on TpT! Grab it for next year, guys!   My kids LOVED it! Here are the pictures I remembered to snap.

During guided reading time and tutoring, I hit R.T.I. hard.  I have 4 friends I'm screening for Dyslexia and I am using parts from my First Grade RTI: Phonemic Awareness pack to do this.  (pppssssttttt! Check out Gladys at Teaching in High Heels.  She blogged about this on Thursday and is giving one away!)  Counting syllables correctly is one of those tasks we are working on.

Don't you love the gluestick pointer?! Yeah, no making fun! It's called "you use what you can grab quickly!"

Alas, I leave you with this video.  It made me laugh real hard and you know we ALL feel like this at times!

Have a great week!!
